behind the globe. . .    above the eyes

just there and remains so

and also the small knot moon

separated by space

on bamboo stalk

and straight spine

i took the knot

which was the tiger’s right eye

the left eye was also black on wire

there was nothing to do but wait (inside)

until the one eye turned to moon

and the other to another moon

which was the knob of a closed door

both spheres of light — one on a horizon line  — that division of sea

and sky

the other in a concrete wall.
